As we introduce and expand ways to share your health data, privacy continues to be at the core. All of our health features are built to keep your data secure and protect your privacy.
Your health data stays on your device and is encrypted — both in transit and at rest — when your device is locked with your passcode. And you are always in control. The Health app lets you keep all your health information securely in one place on your device. When your phone is locked with a passcode, all your health and fitness data in the Health app — other than your Medical ID — is encrypted.
Your health data stays up to date across all your devices automatically using iCloud, where it is encrypted while in transit and at rest. Apps that access HealthKit are required to have a privacy policy, so be sure to review these policies before providing apps with access to your health and fitness data. You decide which information is in the Health app, which apps can access your data, and who you share your data with.
Apple Watch and iPhone are ushering in a new era of health research. You can contribute to groundbreaking studies by sharing health data. The Health app. With a healthy dose of updates. Caring is sharing. Share with the people closest to you.
Knowledge is healthy. More about Knowledge is healthy. Make the most of your time with doctors. More about Make the most of your time with doctors.
Works with systems doctors already use. A change in the way you see your health. A great view of you. More about A great view of you. Stay on top of your trends. We also ensure that apps are denied access to certain sensitive data on your device, are unable to modify your device or OS, and are prohibited from obtaining complete access to your data.
System-level protections prevent an app from accessing data from other apps without your explicit permission. When you download an app, it should work as promised. Which is why human App Reviewers ensure that the apps on the App Store adhere to our strict app review standards. Our App Store Review Guidelines require apps to be safe, provide a good user experience, comply with our privacy rules, secure devices from malware and threats, and use approved business models.
Learn more about the App Store Review Guidelines. You should never have to worry about inappropriate content. We strongly support all points of view being represented on the App Store.
But we also take steps to make sure apps are respectful to users with differing opinions, and we reject apps with any content or behavior that we believe is over the line — especially when it puts children at risk.
Every app has an assigned age rating, so parents can determine what is appropriate for their children. Apps must follow an approved business model and clearly show you the price, tell you what you get with your purchase, and explain subscription-renewal terms up front. Apps help unlock the full potential of your Apple devices. Apple products use industry-leading technology to bring apps to life — so you can experience more of the amazing things your devices are capable of.
Thanks to hardware and software designed to work together, you get more out of your apps — from things you take for granted, like supersmooth scrolling, to seeing how a new sofa might look in your living room before you buy it. We help app developers take advantage of our latest hardware technologies. Like when an app uses Face ID or Touch ID for secure access — while keeping the underlying authentication data from your face or fingerprint private. Or when a game controller syncs up easily with a new game on your iPhone.
When you download a universal app on one device, it automatically appears on your other devices. And if you upgrade to a new device, your apps go with you — no need to redownload as long as your apps stay up to date.
App Store purchases are safe and simple, so you can start playing, gaming, reading — or just doing — right away. We were able to find out the general location of where my iPhone was at BUT It was already closing time. That next morning we played the sound and we found the phone in a store where a guy was trying to turn the noise off. He hesitantly gave me the phone when I told him it was mine.. However he did give me my phone back and that's all that matters.
About two months ago I was in school Im a senior now I was walking to school and I was rushing. I only had 5 minutes to get to class so I ran. I had my phone in my hand and as I was walking towards the school I saw a teacher, so I swiftly put my phone in my purse..
When I arrived to my class and got settled down, I was looking for my phone. I couldn't find it!!! So I'm panicking because I could've sworn I put it in my purse. I was so confused. Long story short I ask anyone who had an iPhone and thank god one of my classmates did. He downloaded the app and I was able to log into my account. I asked my teacher if I could go find it with him and we did. Luckily the police had it and returnees it to me the same day within that hour. Someone stole my MacBook and till this day I can't find it.
Ensure that you notify and obtain consent before collecting, transmitting, or using location data. If your app uses location services, be sure to explain the purpose in your app; refer to the Human Interface Guidelines for best practices for doing so. Make sure your app only includes content that you created or that you have a license to use. If you believe your intellectual property has been infringed by another developer on the App Store, submit a claim via our web form.
Laws differ in different countries, but at the very least, make sure to avoid the following common errors:. Gaming, gambling, and lotteries can be tricky to manage and tend to be one of the most regulated offerings on the App Store. Some things to keep in mind:. You must make a clear declaration of what user data will be collected and how it will be used on an app screen prior to any user action to purchase or otherwise use the service. Apps offering VPN services may not sell, use, or disclose to third parties any data for any purpose, and must commit to this in their privacy policy.
VPN apps must not violate local laws, and if you choose to make your VPN app available in a territory that requires a VPN license, you must provide your license information in the App Review Notes field.
Apps that do not comply with this guideline will be removed from the App Store and you may be removed from the Apple Developer Program. Such apps may only be offered by commercial enterprises, educational institutions, or government agencies, and in limited cases, companies using MDM for parental control services or device security.
MDM apps must not violate any applicable laws. Apps offering MDM services may not sell, use, or disclose to third parties any data for any purpose, and must commit to this in their privacy policy. Apps offering configuration profiles must also adhere to these requirements. Please treat everyone with respect, whether in your responses to App Store reviews, customer support requests, or when communicating with Apple, including your responses in Resolution Center.
Repeated manipulative or misleading behavior or other fraudulent conduct will lead to your removal from the Apple Developer Program. Apps should never prey on users or attempt to rip off customers, trick them into making unwanted purchases, force them to share unnecessary data, raise prices in a tricky manner, charge for features or content that are not delivered, or engage in any other manipulative practices within or outside of the app.
Your Developer Program account will be terminated if you engage in activities or actions that are not in accordance with the Developer Code of Conduct. To restore your account, you may provide a written statement detailing the improvements you plan to make.
If your plan is approved by Apple and we confirm the changes have been made, your account may be restored. App Store customer reviews can be an integral part of the app experience, so you should treat customers with respect when responding to their comments. Use the provided API to prompt users to review your app; this functionality allows customers to provide an App Store rating and review without the inconvenience of leaving your app, and we will disallow custom review prompts.
Providing verifiable information to Apple and customers is critical to customer trust. Your representation of yourself, your business, and your offerings on the App Store must be accurate. The information you provide must be truthful, relevant, and up-to-date so that Apple and customers understand who they are engaging with and can contact you regarding any issues. Participating in the App Store requires integrity and a commitment to building and maintaining customer trust.
Manipulating any element of the App Store customer experience such as charts, search reviews, or referrals to your app erodes customer trust and is not permitted.
Customers expect the highest quality from the App Store, and maintaining high quality content, services, and experiences promotes customer trust. Indications that this expectation is not being met include excessive customer reports about concerns with your app, such as negative customer reviews, and excessive refund requests. Inability to maintain high quality may be a factor in deciding whether a developer is abiding by the Developer Code of Conduct.
