I have two tickets to Caravan Palace in Chicago for July first. Friend bailed on me and now I can't afford the gas to go either. My friends and I are really enjoying Swing House and were wondering if anyone knows any clubs in London that plays this sort of music?

Ideally North London but willing to drive anywhere in London if it's really good! So I just got into swinghouse a few days ago and I was hoping you guys could make some suggestions. I also like Goldfish's Fort Knox. Could Reddit help me find more swinghouse in the vein of those songs? So about a year ago I asked this same question and being as new as we were there didn't seem to be much to point out in reference, but I was wondering if anyone had come across any bluesier stuff.

I have a partner coming up to visit pretty soon and was really hoping to have something new to try out. I haven't had any luck, have you? Anyone know of any good holiday tunes? I can't find anything good on youtube, and truthfully, I don't know how to search for this stuff. This was my first time listening to Ella Fitzgerald in a swing house and it was surprisingly good.

Just a kid I know doing the Charleston. I was told to post this here. I'm a voice actor, copy writer, audio editor and Nexus owner.

They heard that I also mixed Electro-Swing and so decided to invite me back stage to have a drink with them. Led to an awesome time with them discussing new music, their style, and giving me tips on mixing and sourcing music. They were really down to earth guys who truly love the music they make and mix. They also have an album coming up on July 14th which I've now listened to and it is really great club swing. You should buy it because these guys are amazing and deserve the credit.

There's a touch of swing and jack in there, promise. If you are going this year, add yourself to this subreddit, we are gonna be organized and will have different meetup areas. So I left to do development work in Africa about 6 months ago, and now with extremely limited internet I discover the awesomeness of swinghouse! I was wondering if people had recommendations on some solid hour-long swinghouse mixes I can download for parties.

If you guys could help me out, it would be great! Speakeasy Electroswing Montreal is giving a free ticket to this Saturday's show to the rd person to like their facebook page in celebration of the repeal of Prohibition! I know some of the basics to music production; as far as creating the music is where most of my struggle comes. This is a list of instruments that I have figured would be the only ones to touch: upright bass, saxophones all pitches , trombones, fiddles, and of course brush drum kits.

In terms of creating the music I know you always start with the beat typically you have an intro which leads in a verse that will transition into a chorus and usually you throw a breakdown somewhere in there. Any tips for a newbie? Do you know anything now, post-production, that you'd like to pro-tip? What are the main challenges you commonly come across? How do you approach said challenges? Looking to make my own swinghouse track, can anybody point me in the right direction of swing bands that I could sample?

So I'm one of those new subscribers who trickled in from other crossposts. I really just wanna dance like right now. It seems like a lot of these artists tour around Europe, but not in the US. Is there anywhere that plays this kind of music in either DJed or live acts? I don't think I've met anyone who is interested in both electronic music and swing in person yet, and I'm curious where the readers of swinghouse are from.

I'm from central Illinois, USA. I'm an oldschool electro DJ trying out Swinghouse for the first time. Check out the mixtape. I think the video was mostly in black and white and the song sounded very similar to We No Speak Americano, but it was all Russian in style and theme I believe it was a sort of cover of an older Russian song.

I also seem to remember it having a short title but I could be wrong. I can't seem to find it anywhere and hope someone can help me! It had loads of views on youtube but I just can't find it I'm literally just learning about all these different genres now so apologies if I'm mis-categorizing them.

Either way, I'm frickin' obsessed with this sound and want so much more. Anyone have any ideas where to start looking? Also, sorry if I posted in the wrong subreddit. It looks like this one already gets a lot of requests from newbies to the genre such as myself. EDIT: that's really cool to downvote a legitimate question to zero so no one can see it. I just grabbed this on vinyl and I'm digging the hell out of it. Off Flapjack records, Bearnejackity by the Sound Diggers.

Another Mr. Jennings track. His style is more swing-hop than house, but I think y'all will like it. Thanks guys. I have been djing breakbeat, drum and bass, electro, house, etc for years, with some success. Oddly enough, I have a background in jazz - I was a national finalist 5 times with numerous jazz orchestras.

I have recently 'swung' across this particular subreddit on my journey, and so far I like what I've found. I would like some guidance and direction towards some more tracks that you think I would enjoy Basically I'm looking for tracks between BPM, and anything with a decent drop. Your help is very much appreciated! Original stuff for me. Last week my friend sent me her mix that introduced me to Swing house. It's been on repeat nonstop making my week just that much better.

So I've fallen in love with the first Caravan Palace album self titled and I'm looking for groups that revolve around that sound.

I'm really interesting in finding a group that has sound similar to the first link ended with the night and then another group that embodies the rest of their sound, especially the latter two links.

Hey swingers! Would you mind giving me some danceable swinghouse tracks? My senior class in high-school will give a dance in a few months, and we decided to go with this classy-and-cool-genre Good track by GrooveJuice. But I really like the video cuz I can finally put a face to the quotes at into the song.

Next month - on May 4th - we're featuring Mike D.
